AI is coming for your job. What are you going to do about it?

Google have laid off 6% of their global workforce. Amazon have just informed 18,000 people they are being let go… by email.

Microsoft has just announced the same — resulting in 11,000 jobs cut.

Salesforce, Meta, and Coinbase too. Huge companies.

In finance, Barclays and Goldman Sachs are amongst the hardest hit. We also saw Elon Musk’s Twitter reign begin with a huge reduction of staff.

The names and numbers are nerve-wracking and seemingly never-ending.

This is just the start. And it’s going to get even more brutal.

I was speaking to a couple of techies this week. We got talking about ChatGPT and its potential for disruption. They said it was scary the potential AI in general has to change the world as we know it. With tools like this, people can use them for good or bad.

Bad could include ever-more-sophisticated cyber attacks, so cyber security needs to go to the next-level. They were saying that most of the public doesn’t know how insane the possibilities are, and how quickly the speed of change can take place from here on in.

Roles are changing overnight.

Now tech firms are hiring ‘prompt engineers’ — those who can write the prompts…
