Goldilocks and the Three Quears?

Time to rename Creeping Shariah?

We went to see Goldilocks and the Three Bears with my children on the weekend.

Although the story was not quite how I remember it.

Instead of Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear and Baby Bear as per the traditional story, the bears were “two husbands.”

Look, I understand artistic licence and all that — but come on man, the show is aimed at 4–6-year-olds.

Absolutely no need to introduce that kind of dynamic in something for kids — if anything, instead of it being a quirky tweak to the narrative, it just confused my little ones (who are very familiar with the usual story) as my 3-year-old asked me afterwards — where was mummy bear?

One of the bears was quite gruff and “butch” (but loved ballet dancing) and the other was quite effeminate and loved cooking (and was French, for some random reason lol). I suppose he was the mummy.

I don’t mind a creative retelling of a story here and there, and it was even quite funny in parts. I understand them trying to make it hip/modern/contemporary etc but things like that sneaked into shows for kids makes me very apprehensive and wary.

It is NOT harmless.
